SwingMentalist is committed to making its service accessible to the widest possible audience, including people with disabilities. We design and continually refine the application with accessibility in mind, in line with the Israeli equal-rights legislation for people with disabilities and internationally recognised guidelines.
1. Operator
The SwingMentalist service is operated by Amit Shlomo, a sole proprietor based in Israel. Contact: [email protected].
2. Standards we target
We aim to conform to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, which is also the technical baseline of Israeli Standard 5568 referenced by the Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities Regulations (Service Accessibility), 5773–2013 ("Regulation 35"). We treat WCAG 2.1 AA as a floor, not a ceiling - some areas of the application reach beyond it; we are honest below about the areas that do not yet meet it.
3. Built-in accessibility features
The application provides direct, one-tap access to its accessibility controls from every screen. On desktop, look for the floating ♿ button in the bottom-right corner. On mobile, the same controls live under the hamburger (☰) menu in the top-right, labelled "♿ Accessibility". This page, the Terms, Privacy, Pricing, and Refund pages also expose the floating button directly. Opening the controls gives you:
- Text size - on desktop, four steps (Small / Default / Large / Extra Large), implemented as a true viewport zoom so charts, icons, and form controls all scale together. The setting is remembered across visits. On mobile, the in-app text-size controls are intentionally not shown - the Accessibility panel surfaces an explanation pointing users at their operating-system text-size setting instead (iOS: Settings → Display & Brightness → Text Size; Android: Settings → Display → Font size and display size). The OS controls scale reliably on phones without the layout-overflow that an in-app viewport zoom causes on a small screen. The other accessibility modes below - high contrast, reduce motion, and colour-blind palette - remain available on mobile.
- High-contrast mode - strengthens borders and text/background contrast for users with low vision.
- Reduce motion - disables animations and transitions across the application, for users who experience motion sickness or attention difficulties.
- Colour-blind safe palette - remaps the green/red trading colours (candles, P&L, score chips, position-tool boxes, scanner sparklines) to a blue/amber pair that is distinguishable under the most common forms of deuteranopia and protanopia.
Settings persist in your browser's local storage and apply automatically the next time you open the application.
4. Other accessibility provisions
- Keyboard navigation - primary navigation, sign-in / sign-up forms, the scanner, the trade journal, and most modal dialogs are operable using the keyboard alone. Visible focus indicators are provided on interactive elements.
- Semantic structure - pages use semantic HTML headings, lists, and form labels so that assistive technologies can convey structure correctly.
- Form labels and errors - every input has a programmatically associated label, and validation messages are announced inline rather than relying solely on colour.
- No auto-playing audio or video.
- No flashing content that could trigger photosensitive seizures.
- Responsive layout - the application works on phones, tablets, and desktops down to 320 px wide, and supports both portrait and landscape orientations.
- Light and dark themes are both supported and tuned for contrast.
5. Compatibility
The application is tested against the latest two versions of the following browsers and assistive technologies:
- Browsers: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari - desktop and mobile. Native Android and iOS applications are in development and will be supported on release.
- Screen readers: NVDA on Windows and VoiceOver on macOS / iOS.
- Operating-system zoom and OS-level "reduce motion" / "increase contrast" preferences are respected wherever the browser surfaces them.
6. Known limitations
In the interest of transparency, the following areas are known to fall short of full accessibility today. We are actively working to address them:
- Interactive price charts - candlestick charts, drawing tools (position sketches, alerts, notes), and the multi-timeframe view rely heavily on mouse / touch input. Keyboard-only and screen-reader users can still access the underlying tabular data (open / high / low / close, indicators, alerts, journal entries) through the rest of the application, but the chart visualisation itself is not yet fully operable without a pointing device.
- Backtester result graphs - equity curves are decorative. The numerical results (total return, expectancy, win rate, drawdown, trade list) are provided in adjacent tables.
- Some date / number inputs use the browser's native pickers, whose accessibility varies across browsers and operating systems.
If you encounter an accessibility barrier we have not listed here, please tell us - your report helps us prioritise the next round of fixes.
7. Reporting an accessibility issue
If something on SwingMentalist is not accessible to you, or if you would like to request the same information in a different format, please contact us. We aim to respond within five business days and to provide an alternative means of accessing the relevant information in the meantime.
8. Excluded content
Third-party content that we embed or link to from external providers (for example, news articles fetched from Twelve Data, the Paddle payment checkout, or external links from the marketing page) is not under our direct control. We choose providers that publish their own accessibility statements wherever possible, but we cannot guarantee equivalent conformance.
9. Updates to this statement
This statement is reviewed at least once a year and updated whenever the application changes in a way that materially affects accessibility. The "Last reviewed" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent review.
